Matcha and Birds／抹茶と鳥方

Inside this poetry chapbook: 12 haikus, 9 senryūs, 5 tankas, 1 somonka, 1 dodoitsu, and a gogyōka ode to blue jays. The poems of Matcha and Birds cover a breadth of topics from birds and nature to an eclipse to love to bicycling to tea on a summer day, all originally written in the second-language Japanese of an Anglophone deeply in love with traditional forms of Japanese poetry. This chapbook includes the original Japanese texts of the poems, Romanizations, and English translations, plus basic info on the poetry forms at the chapbook's end.
